Well what can I say about this that hasnt been said before?

I've had RT now for about 5 months. Its always great fun to use, a big group normally gathers at the gym, everyone wanting to have a go.

I must admit that I've not used it regularly. I would go a few weeks and use it, then not use it again for a while. My grip has definately improved. I'm now pulling 65kg on it, I started with 55kg. I want to break the 80kg barrier on this.

As for the quality, its up to the usual IronMind standard. Build quality is good, looks like it could withstand a nuclear blast! Some paint has come off the bit you attach the loading pin to but thats to be expected. Oh yeah, you need a loading pin.

Find out more about Rolling Thunder here http://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmind/prodinfo.asp?number=1246&variation=&aitem=20&mitem=39

I'll give it an 8 out of 10.

I agree with Pikey, nice bit of kit that will last forever. The handle has a diameter of around 2.5" and makes an oly bar feel like spaghetti. Get one NOW.

What can you pull on it Mike?

First time I used it (2 weeks ago) I pulled 55kg, a bit disappointed :( .
I'm aiming for the 200lb mark, then I'm going to go around breaking people hands :D ...
Got a lot of funny looks in the gym, love it!

I bought one same time as Pikey though i have only used mine once! Did a few lifts on it but hurt my wrist pretty quick, it still has not healed so it has sat in the corner gathering dust ever since. I hope to use it again one day.

Alex = Big Al?

If enough people have one maybe we could start a comp or have a grip comp in general.

I think thats a cool idea, how about RT max pull, 2" bad D/O max hold with a predetermined weight and the same with an oly bar but mixed grip?

Yes it is I.

An RT comp would be good, i believe i got 70 with the right hand and 65 with the left before i was crippled, however the only record i made of this was on UKMuscle...

can i enter with GripDogg's Inch DB? Its 2.5" AND floats like the RT does? It doesn't bother me that its harder..

Surprisingly I've quite enjoyed using it.

You should enter the grip comp.

make your own dude. get a revolving stirrup handle, cut a small piece of scaff, bend the handle open, jam in the scaff and clamp it back in. mine works a treat.
