90lbs chain for £80.00 inc. VAT and delivery and two feeders, which is a damn sight cheaper than the so-called 'powerlifting chain' (different to normal chain, apparently) some places sell and a lot more weight than I really need in the short term. If most of you lot were simply to buy as much as you need right now, you could get it for a fair bit less.
Many sizes of chain available. I went with the 12x36x40 because, at 3.30kg/m, 1.5m comes to 4.95kg, or 5kg to within 1%, which should make calculating the overload easier. Feeders are made of 6mm chain and a pair of snap hooks ponced from my neck harness.
The self-coloured chain looks pretty mangey and is v. dirty when it arrives. Will do the job fine, but not so great for a commercial gym, even if you could be arsed to haul it around in your bag. Galvanised steel is available for a premium.
Overall, service from these guys was fine, although they did mess me around a little with the delivery - It was supposed to take 3 days, but really took more like 5/6, with numerous conversations along the line of:
"Where's my chain?"
"The courier tried to deliver it yesterday. They left a card 'cos there was nobody there."
"There was somebody at home all day and nobody's left a card, so they bloody well haven't tried to deliver it, have they?"
"Ummmm..."
In short, big range of chain all at low costs, just don't expect it to arrive when they say it will. The main e-mail doesn't seem to be active, but you should be able to contact rod@eyecochain.com with your order for a quote.
