Any tips?

Weak triceps?
What's your whole chest routine and when do you fail?
Yer i think my triceps are weak. I am doin a Franky NY routine so the chest is just 5x5 bench press (changes to dumbell press soon).
I do the whole 5x5, then my arms fail... the chest doesn't even feel like it gets hit atall!
Whats the best exercise ro build big strong tri's? Do you think i should change my routine from the Frank Ny to a routine that would hit the weak partsmore frequently and harder?
DAY 1 ? PULL
Deadlifts or Power Cleans
Barbell Rows, Dumbbell Rows, or Wide Grip Chins
Barbell Curls, Close Grip Underhand Chins, or Hammer Curls
DAY 2 ? PUSH
Incline or Flat Barbell or Dumbbell Bench Press
Barbell or Dumbbell Shoulder Presses
Tricep Dips or Close Grip Bench Press
DAY 3 ? LEGS
Front or Back Squats
Barbell or Dumbbell Stiff Leg Deadlifts
Calf Raises (3x12) - only if a seriously lagging bodypart
Weighted Crunches or Weighted Hanging Leg Raises (3

I think your grip is too close, although cant be sure. Either use a wider grip or switch to dumbell's.
ahhhh, yes- i do tend to use a very close grip! I read somewhere that this hits the inside chest a bit more?
...now you say it, i was doing wide grip the other day and it did seem to hit the chest alot more... i felt it on the outside.
So shall i use wide grip from now on? How wide shall i go?

i wouldnt worry about inside/outside chest. just grip with what you are comfy with although changes in grip will shift emphasis around a tad (from triceps to chest)
one thing i dont get (excuse my thick headednes) is that you say:
"I do the whole 5x5, then my arms fail... the chest doesn't even feel like it gets hit atall!"
so you do the required work and your arms are battered at the end. i dont see anything needing attention there. :017: as to your chest not feeling hit - well you're probably not getting a pump - for what its worth, do you get any doms - insignificant as it is?
when i did the 5x5 i had doms for days.
what you could also try is dips for chest and then close grip bench press. your tricpes are bound to be tired though especially with military's thrown in.
It feels like it's the arms that are jus getting hit and not the chest! I only occasionly get DOMS, and if I do it's very lightly. I have it a bit at the moment in the back from weighted pullups and the Biceps from barbell curls (yes- under the squat rack robert :D ).
You say you don't see anything needing attention there but I get worried as my chest is a lagging part and i feel like it doesn't get trained. I often find myself wanting to add some more for the chest, is this reccomendable or not?
Thanks for your advice mate, it has been very helpful!
I may try the example yuo have given, but I don't have the correct equiment so i will have to wait until i have a gym member ship!

when i first did the 5x5 i did 2 exercises for chest and 1 for shoulders. 0 for triceps directly. maybe you could try the same if thats not what you are doing already.
depending on the equipment available you could do dumbbell press, ideally a different one to the barbell press that you are doing (incline ...). if you dont have the dumbbells then weighted pushups.
also as long as your poundages are moving up dont worry about it too much. just keep eating and training hard.
