I spend my working hours child minding and dealing ineffectually with 'challenging young people within an atmosphere of inclusion'.
Funny really, coz I swear it says I'm a school teacher on my contract :002:

SO ITS YOU THAT SENT IT !!!
I have just got one telling me that I have underpaid by THREE WHOLE YEARS !! even though I have P60's for all three years showing that I did pay the full amount ( or my employer did - I was on PAYE )
Seriously - what goes on at your place ? every year for the past three years you have overpaid my tax credit by around £1000 & then got all sh***y with me about 6 weeks later asking for it back ( I can understand it the once but EVERY YEAR !?!?
Also I have few freinds that have had the same problem !
So can you give us some insight ? Is the Tax credit Dept staffed by "care in the community" candidates by any chance?
There , got that off my chest

Hello mate!
It's either your employer is pulling a fast one and not making national insurance contributions on your account, they are using the wrong NINO or there's been a mess up along the line on our behalf (we changed our computer system over).
Basically, it is not a demand for payment but is to help us ensure we have the correct records (check if an business's are pulling scams etc). If you have made NI contributions for the whole of those 3 years then fill in the form RD171A that we sent along with the letter, then send that back to us at the address in the bottom left and we'll investigate it for you ;) . Are they all for 52 weeks?
You must have been earning over £79 per week (depending on year) to credit your NI account. If you didn't make NI contrivutions in that year then I suggest you obtain a pension's Forcast by phoning 0845 3000168. (your are allowed a period of 5 yrs inwhich you don't need to make NI contribuions and you can still get a Full state pension (£79.60 per week)
This will tell you how much your pensions worth at the moment and if making any of those contributions will increase your pension entitlememnt when you get to retirement age. I would reccomend everyone does this if they want to know what their state pension is worth, and if they're expected to get a full one at retirement age. It's a free service, you may wish to get one even if you do send the RD171A off because making the contributions may still benefit you (if you've had a gap of over 5 yrs where you havn't made contributions)
You have till 2009 to make any of those contributions if you need to.
Get that form RD171A sent off mate (with photocopied P60's if poss). You could phone the help number but you'll get through to me :043:
p.s- this is National Insurance related, nothing to do with tax.....
they're all a bunch of loonies up there :046:

Hulkster, my dad owns a string of propeties both "bought to sell" and "buy to let" so if you need any advice or are having issues with any aspect of trading property then PM me and i'll give you his email address. He is a very busy man so might not reply straight away, but hes done it before for a guy on MT so it shouldn't be a problem.

May be too late SOG your overwhelming passion for british politics inspired me so much that I ave decided to devote three years to following in your footsteps :045:
Nah.....it will probably be an International History course, so not strictly politics but enters into it a fair amount, like it did at A-level doing modern history. At that sort of level/details I think it can be interesting (ish)
