View Full Version : Setting up a diet
Any help appriciated. Aim to bulk up alot. Stole bits out of rages diet (hope you dont mind!)
7.00am - 2 slices of toast
- 1 large bowl of porridge
10.45 - Sandwiches (1 round)
- 1 Pint of milk
2.00 -6 pieces of chicken (thighs and drumsticks)
- 1 bagel
-1 pint of milk
3.15 - 1 round of sandwiches
7.00 -whatever mother cooks (Huge Roast dinner yesterday) usually very nutricous balanced meal
9.30
-Rice pudding
-1 pint of milk
Is this enough to bulk with? Do i need more?

Make it a gallon of whole milk and add a tin of tuna per day. How many sandwiches are in a round?
7.00am - 2 slices of toast
- 1 large bowl of porridge
Where's the protein? Add in 6 whole eggs.
10.45 - Sandwiches (1 round)
- 1 Pint of milk
Not sure what a "round" of sandwiches is, but lets have several wholemeal bread sandwiches with high protein filling - chicken, turkey, tuna etc.
2.00 -6 pieces of chicken (thighs and drumsticks)
- 1 bagel
-1 pint of milk
6 pieces of chicken is protein overload. 4 would be more sensible. There are better carbs options than a bagel. How about some rice.
3.15 - 1 round of sandwiches
Same deal with the 10.45 meal. I'd move this to 4.30.
9.30
-Rice pudding
-1 pint of milk
Need more protein. How about a serve of oily fish such as salmon or mackerel.
There is also a distinct lack of any fruit and vegetables in your diet. Hopefully you're just no bothering to post them up...
Thanks for your advice DMPM
Where's the protein? Add in 6 whole eggs.
I can't really eat much in the mornings, just toast and a bowl of porridge is pushing it. Shall i have scrambled egg on toast instead?

Round is one sandwtich. I generally have bacon or chicken with stuffing e.t.c.

Ok will have 4 instead. These are only small pieces mind, thighs and drumsticks, does that matter? What would you suggest instead of a bagel? I basically goto sainsburys and get the chicken hot from the deli e.t.c.

Hmm never thought of that, might be worth a try. Couldnt eat it at work tho as i'll stink the place out!

Yeah i didnt post them, i generally have two pieces a day (bannanas, apples)
Revised diet. Any better?

The milk should be with whey mxed in imo, wheres the fruit? You like cottage cheese? if yes eat it before bed, Looks more like a cutting diet imo, as dmpm said i would eat eggs and maybe mix some tuna in with them, get a good meal in the evening with vegetables and salad maybe, I dont practice what i preach but i know the theory lol!
GrippDogg, hte last thing i want it to be is a cutting diet. I want to put on crap loads of weight.
I think i tried cottage cheese before, and dont believe i liked it. I also do not like tuna. Im not a fussy eater!! honest!

I would certainly add fruit to up the cals and help with nutrition, im partial to 1 apple, 1 bannana and 2 satsumas a day plus 1/2 pint of good fruit juice with my evening meal, some yoghurt maybe good with one of your smaller meals too, if you could fit it in have some weetabix with your breakfast or as a snack at some point, This imo is the 3rd best breakfast cereal around, 1 being oatmeal and 2 being porridge but i cant be arsed with preparing these, I blend my weetabix with whey milk and a yoghurt then pour it into pint pots to drink when i can manage it, you can also add cottage cheese you wont even taste it. 2 weetabix, 2scoops of whey, 1 yoghurt, a bannana and a litre of skimmed! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! Delish seriously.
7.00am - scrambled eggs on toast.
I have the same problem eating in the morning too. Just try to cram it in. I would say this is better than what you had.
2.00 - 4 pieces of chicken (thighs and drumsticks)
- 1 bagel
-1 pint of milk
- 1 banana
4 pieces of drumstick and thigh will have over 50g of protein. More than enough for one meal IMO.
9.30
-Rice pudding
-1 pint of milk
So you're at work at this time? What time do you go to bed then?
If oily fish isn't doable, how about a tub of that flavoured cottage cheese you can get at Sainsbury's?
Looks more like a cutting diet imo,
LOL wish i could eat that much on a cutting diet... hes got well over 3thousand cals there :045:

Your diet looks remarkably similar to mine mate :017: !
I have made a few adjustments in bold, personally this wouldn't be enough for me. Get some protein bars if you struggle to find the time to eat during the day (like me)
I'd go for something more like this;
7.00am - 2 poached eggs on 2 slices of toast
- 1 large bowl of porridge with a pint of milk in
- one protein shake with a pint of milk
10.45 - Sandwiches packed with chicken breast and salad (1 round)
-Protein bar (sometimes i have this before if not bloated, lol)
1.00 -Sandwiches packed with chicken
-protein bar
-2 pints of milk (well, a litre!)
3.15 -2 chicken drumsticks (Asda :P)
-Protein bar
6.00 -Tuna & sweetcorn sandwich (tin of tuna)
-Protein shake with pint of milk
8.00 -whatever mother cooks (Huge Roast dinner yesterday) usually very nutricous balanced meal
10.30 -Turkey sanwiches (1-2 rounds depending on how hungry)
-Rice pudding
-protein shake with pint of milk
....but then again, that is my diet :046:. I'm putting on a steady 2lb a week with this.
