Ok spoke to the guy today and heres the situation.
Rack will cost £300 but will be substantially better than one you'll pay double for (this guy builds bridges and footy stadiums so its gonna last). As soon as one is ordered he will start making it. The first one will be part prototype so will probably take a bit longer to make as its will be the one that all the rest are mastered from.
Logs came out a bit more expensive than planned at £110

squat stands were £85 each.

Hes gonna price up a bench for me (he forgot Id asked him)

Yes there is cheaper but probably not better!
These are buyer collects from Rochester Kent.
There will be a 30% deposit required if anyone wants one with the rest on collection.

£85 each....meaning each pair? (squat stands)

per stand from whats written on paper, will double check. These are serious ly solid stuff though, none of the 0.5mm box section with punched holes. Fabricated from steel and each one is personally blessed by a witch doctor to increase any lift by up to 50%.

Do you know what dimensions the power rack will take, height wise most importantly,or can that be altered to suit each order.
Sorry to be a pain.

1600mm wide
2350mm tall

Solid they may be, but heller expensive for squat stands! If that was the price for 2 I may be interested, otherwise the rack is great value.

1600mm wide is just under 63 inches. I thought most racks were in the 45inch range? Just wondering because I do want a reasonably wide rack, so that I can grab the bar with my index fingers in the rings of a powerlifting bar without the rack stands being where my hands should be. Is this width right?

Rogue_zero

from his sketch its what he has written on it. The width can be tailored to your needs.

Could you make one of these per chance, minus the step-up and dip attachments.

Yup yup. I think you could make yourself a wee earner out of them - I'm pretty certain nobody makes anything like it in the UK.

Does your mate make this stuff up in London before shifting it out to you?

His fab shop is in Rochester, hes working at the Arsenal stadium and on a bridge over the Thames so has a small yard up there (near the bus bomb).

How much was this monster to buy?

Scourge

Not a lot less than $2500.00. Hate to think what delivery from the US would be like as well.

I'd guess you'd be able to make them up for a lot less than that, especially as that one includes a lot of extraneous crap (step up and dip attachments, two sets of J hooks, two sets of safeties etc.).

I've had 2 quotes at over £1000 to have racks shipped from the US. One of the racks was only $500 as well (the Joe Average rack - awesome!).

Wow.

How are they shipping it? DHL? Or maybe paying some guy to swim across the Atlantic with the rack strapped to him?

Not sure, didn't ask, but I'm not entertaining that for 1 second. (Well I did do actually!).

RZ, any word on the benches? I'm going to bite the bullet and fork out soon. I've seen an alright one for £100, which is about my limit. You reckon yours will be much different?
